Scrub-a-dub dub!

CAUTION: MAY CONTAIN NUDITY
(precious nudity, but nudity nonetheless)

So at the urging of the people in my office and family members, here are some new Nathan pictures. :) I am apparently a slacker so I did a bath time photo shoot last night and here are the results. Isn't he precious?! I love the last one when we were about to get him out of the tub. Nathan absolutely loves his bath time and he basically never stops moving from the point he hits the water until we take him out. He flails his arms and legs about, which makes it very hard to scrub those hard to reach places, but he has so much fun and always hates to see it end. As far as news other than bath time, I don't have any right at the moment, but we'll have all sorts of good updates after the weekend. We're going to Jonesboro for our cousin Eli's second birthday party and then onto Forrest City after that to pay Mema a short visit. I hope everyone has a great weekend and I promise to update you when we get back to town!

Look what I can do!

So it's been a little while since I posted, but in case you were wondering, we had an amazing weekend. We sat around and did absolutely nothing and loved every second of it. We also took a TON of pictures of Nathan, so I thought I would share a few of them with you. Our sweet little boy did all sorts of cool things this weekend - shared a deep conversation with a puppy dog, *attempted* to eat Gerber puffs, started standing up on laps (when he's not jumping on them) and took a break to curl up in bed with a good Seasame Street book. Aren't you all impressed with his skills? :) I hope everybody else had a great weekend and a happy Monday. Enjoy the cuteness!

What a Stud

I pretty much couldn't leave the house for daycare and work without getting a picture of this stud muffin. I hope everybody has a fantastic Tuesday!

Shameless Picture Posting

I was just filing away some recent pictures on my computer this afternoon and thought I'd share some super cute ones with you all. The top three are from Wednesday when Nathan was doing a wonderful job sitting up by himself (for about a minute at a time, of course). Notice his new baby pirate outfit - SO cute!! The second two were taken at Poppy and Grammy's house a few days ago. Nathan likes to be a puppy dog sometimes. :)

My Funny Valentine

Happy Valentine's Day everybody! I hope you all had as wonderful of a day as the Bauer family did.
We have had a great week here in Conway, mostly due to the fact that I only worked Monday and Tuesday. I had to take off Wednesday for Nathan's surgery consultation, so I thought why not go ahead and make it a mini-vacation? My mom came to visit, also, so we had lots of fun. As for Nathan's appointment at Children's, everything went well. The doctor was very nice and told us the surgery is basically a high-class circumsicion that will only take 30 minutes. He said the day after surgery, we probably won't be able to tell he had it done.
As for today, I got the BEST surprise ever from my little Valentine. Because I didn't work today, Jonathan picked Nathan up by himself and took him shopping. When I went out to the car to say hello, Nathan had an enormous teddy bear for me, a card and a home-made Valentine he did at school. I almost died just a little when I saw that!!! :) Isn't it absolutely wonderful?? After a million hugs, that thing went straight to the fridge. I am so incredibly proud of it. After the boys were home, Jonathan and I enjoyed a dinner that I cooked all by myself (imagine that) and Nathan enjoyed his new favorite - green beans!! Nothing says "Happy Valentine's Day" like a spoonful of beans. Hope everybody felt the love today!

America's Next Top Baby

The Bauer family had a wonderful time with the newly-wed Meredith and Ryan Saturday. We had not seen their new place in Benton since they moved in so we went down to have a grand tour and an afternoon of fun. After we had lunch, Meredith and I took Nathan to the city park for his first time on a swing (in mom's lap of course) and a photo shoot with Mere's new, super-fancy camera. He had a great time and was the perfect little model. I swear we should win some kind of award for these pictures. We also went to the city hall and sat on the steps of the gazebo for another photo op. There Nathan pulled out his "all-American baby look." After an afternoon of modeling, we stopped by Brian and Diana's house, who happen to only live a few minutes from the Rooks, so they could get in some quality baby time. As for today, we just sat around the house in our pajamas and played all day. I made some more butternut squash and some green bean baby food. We'll try the green beans for the first time tomorrow and I'll have to let you know how well that goes. But you can imagine how stinky our kitchen is right now! Well I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and was able to get some nice relaxation time in before the work week starts up again tomorrow. See ya!

The tradition continues

And so Nathan's part in the Lenten tradition begins - Friday night our little boy got to experience his very first fish fry and we all had such a blast! We gathered together at Grammy and Poppy's house with close friends and family and caught up with one another and shared quite a few laughs. We ate yummy food and dessert and shared stories filled with waaay too much information, as tradition would dictate. By the point in the night I whipped out my camera, during game time, no less, Nathan had partied himself out. We played a few rounds of Catchphrase until the boys' (plus Holly) team finally won. However the girls did end up winning 3 out of 4 because we're that darn good (and we got words like "sneeze")! Anyway we had a wonderful, ridiculous, time and we can't wait until the next one!

And many more...

So today marks another important milestone in little Nathan's life - seven whole months! I can't believe it has already been seven months since July. The time has just flown by and he has become a completely different baby. It's like one day he just woke up with a cute little flirty and silly personality! So as it was a monumentous occasion for our son, we decided to take him to the grocery store for a birthday trip (woohoo!). AND we let him sit in the grocery cart for the first time with mommy and daddy. After propping him up with his and daddy's jackets, he was good to go. He held onto the bar and looked around in amazement at all the wonderful food he can't eat yet. And of course I didn't have my camera. But here is a camera phone picture - it's not the best quality but you guys just had to see how darn cute this was. I'm going to have to become one of those moms who carries her camera in her purse all the time "just in case something cute happens." Love to all!

Boys will be boys...?

Jonathan: Hey Jessica, go get me Nathan's hair brush. I want to brush his little hairs.

:) I love my boys.

Super Bowl Weekend

Hi friends and family! Jonathan and I wanted to have an area to post fun updates, pictures and videos of Nathan so you all could have a quick fix between e-mails. I decided to start this on a slow Monday morning at work, so I'll give you the run-down of our weekend. Saturday Jon and Grumple spent the day on Lake Conway, so Nathan and I had a fun day of playing to ourselves. We cooked lots of baby food - apples, pears and sweet potatoes. He tried the apples for the first time Super Bowl Sunday and he loved them, of course. So far he is definitely not a picky eater. Sunday we spent the day at Grammy and Poppy's house to watch the big game and play a while. I have to admit Nathan and I liked watching the Puppy Bowl (if you don't know what that is, google it!) more than the Super Bowl, but we all had a great day together. Plus, Nathan looked super cute in his game day sweatshirt, so we had to have a photo shoot. Enjoy!

Love,
Jessica
