Let's go fly a kite!

"Fly kite! Fly kite! Fly kite!" That's something we hear every time we head down the road that leads to Grammy's house. And Sunday afternoon was the perfect weather for kite flying. Although it was mostly mommy and daddy flying the Sesame Street kite with Nathan watching closely, he had a great time. He also spent time doing a few of his other favorite outdoors activities - eating "tedbears" on a blanket in the grass, playing a little bocce ball, attempting to ride a bicycle and cleaning. Yes, cleaning. :) Our little boy is on a huge cleaning kick - so much that Poppy cut off the handles of a broom and a mop so now Nathan happily has his own gear. Enjoy the pictures and have a great Tuesday.

Kick awesome??

So I don't know if you've heard, but there is a show on nowadays called American Idol. And I don't know if you have heard, but one of the finalists is from Conway. Geez. So the past couple months of my life, especially while at the newspaper, have been all Kris Allen, all the time. Unfortunately that has not stopped with my son. He has added the sounds of Kris Allen to his repertoire of farm animals and truck noises he likes to recite. Allen's "catch phrase" is now often repeated in my home. Kick awesome. However, notice how Nathan likes to say it but will refuse to use it as a term of endearment for the superstar. :)

*PS - I thought I'd take a cue from Liberty and add on a snippet of Nathan's animal sounds, complete with the Kris Allen sound. It's just too cute not to share.

Just keep swimming

Also while on vacation in St. Louis, Nathan got a little pool practice in as the hotel came with an indoor pool. At first he decided he would just wade around in the baby pool, but it wasn't too long until he decided to man up, put on his dinosaur floaties and hit the big pool. Here's a couple of pictures and a video that show just how good he is at that kick, kick, kick. :) He can't wait until it's warm enough to start swimming at Nana's.

Meet Me in St. Louie

Here are a few photos I haven't had time to post over the past few weeks - this is a VERY busy time to work education at a newspaper and it seems like the family side of my life hasn't slowed down much either. We're always on the go. :) But since I had a few minutes this morning, I thought I'd update you all a little on our life. These are photos from late April, when we all went to St. Louis for my cousin's daughter's baptism and my other cousin's daughter's First Holy Communion. It was lots of fun and Nathan had a great time meeting new cousins. He also had a good time with the guys at the party, as you can see from the picture, and was super sad to leave, as you can also clearly see. :) Enjoy!
