the big 0-2

So over the past few months... lots of exciting things happened. I turned 25 one day and the next I was given a teaching position and that afternoon I quit my job at the Log Cabin. (finally). That weekend Aunt B came to visit for a week and the following weekend we celebrated little Nathan's second birthday with the best, most patriotic birthday party ever. Needless to say, we have had a busy summer, but it has all been worth it and we've made wonderful memories. Nathan's birthday party was held in Grammy's front yard/garage this year and was full of fireworks, fully-clothes kids in the pool, naked kids in the pool, yummy cupcakes, water balloons, tons of presents and lots of fun. I won't go into to much detail, as I'd imagine the pictures say a thousand words. Anyway, the kid who has taken over our house is officially two years old and, so far, not too much of the 'terrible' has crept in. He is funny, quick-witted and the smartest kid I know. He loves to sing, dance and do anything to keep people focused on him - as I'd imagine is common for your average two-year-old. Oh yeah, and he's absolutely the most adorable boy you've ever laid eyes on... just sayin'.

As for a quick update from me - the job I've taken is teaching English for grades 7, 9 and 11 at St. Joseph High School, a small Catholic school here in Conway. Through working at the paper, I've gotten to know a lot of the kids and faculty already and I'm super excited/nervous about this new opportunity. School starts Aug. 17 and now I'm spending my time working on my classroom, designing lesson plans and reading classic literature. :) I'm very happy. Thanks to everyone who has been praying for me to find such a great spot.

Enjoy these photos and more will come soon - our busy summer is far from over.
