Christmas Tunes Vol. I

One of Nathan's many Christmas songs he has been singing around the house lately. Unfortunately I started recording after a complete round and missed the chorus to the song. And, as you can tell, Nathan is easily distracted by an opportunity to pose. :) Many more singing videos to come... if I can catch them!

The Annual Tree Trimming

I am very excited about Christmas this year. I'm excited not only to have our first round of holidays in our new home, but to also have a son who has finally reached the age of being absolutely ecstatic about it! After Thanksgiving, the four grandparents helped us set up and decorate the Christmas tree - which looks really good, might I add! And Nathan had a fabulous time picking out the ornaments, helping string the lights, and sitting in front of the radio, picking up new songs to sing throughout the month of December. I hope everyone else is getting into the holiday mood because it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Bauer household. :)

Family + Food = Thanksgiving

So Thanksgiving has come and gone and I hope that, just like us, everyone had a house full of good food and great family. We actually hosted the holiday in our new house, which gave us a good reason to finish decorating, hang up most of the pictures, and empty all of the boxes. I would definitely count it as a success, though, with everyone from my side of the family, plus Grammy and Poppy. Add two fried turkeys, an award-winning green bean casserole, and pies as far as the eyes can see (among much MUCH more) and you can tell what kind of Thanksgiving we had. :) We also ended the night with more family time around the bonfire in our backyard - Grandpa Steve even broke out the guitar and we shared lots of songs and laughter. Anyway, I just wanted to post a few pictures from the holiday to show you all what it is I am truly thankful for - and that's family. Especially this precious little two-year-old who is currently working on his own computer next to me, "updating his log."

On My Big Green Tractor

Jonathan and I received an early Christmas present from my parents this week - a big green John Deere tractor (well it's a lawn mower really) and Nathan has fallen in love with it. When he first set eyes on it yesterday afternoon, he marched straight into the house and said, "Dad, take me for a ride in the grass!" Thanks again for this much-needed present, parents, and enjoy the cute pictures of my favorite guys, everyone else! PS - Please note the bright orange Scrappers toboggan - we're fully prepared to live in Nashville now!

Settling (for the most part)

So sorry to those of you who have flooded my Facebook and inbox with requests to see new pictures, hear Nashville updates, and basically keep up with my life. I start with the apology, but I'll follow up with the excuses. :) SO, what has been happening since we found our house in Nashville and announced that new jobs and a new community were on the way? Well, we spent the end of October moving and, thanks to so many great friends and family members who willingly volunteered to load up that humongous truck, everything is now in its place (basically). And we really do feel like this is where we're supposed to be. We can say this with certainty from our new front porch swing overlooking the beautiful front yard. :) As for outside of the house, I love working with my parents in the office part-time and being able to spend my off days with Nathan. It's a fantastic schedule! Jonathan is loving his new position, as well. He thinks he has perfected the art of making a cheeseburger and is excited to learn the ins and outs of management now. Nathan also loves preschool and is already a hit with all of his classmates. The Bauer family is very very content with our present and excited about our future. I've posted just a few pictures to showcase what we've been doing for the past month... which seems to be taking pictures of our adorable son. :) I hope everyone is doing well and I look forward to great family time at Thanksgiving next week.

Until then, lots of love!

King of All Wild Things

Before a major update of where we've been for the past month, here are a couple of Halloween photos to showcase our cutie pie. Nathan, or as he was known that night, Max, King of All Wild Things, had a blast trick-or-treating throughout his Grammy's neighborhood with all of his sweet little cousins. I've posted two pictures just to show off that costume, but for those who haven't seen the rest of the pictures, you can click HERE to see an entire album of "Where the Wild Things Are" magic. Enjoy. :)
