Showtime!

Tuesday night was a big night for the Bauer family. Little two-year-old Nathan made his grand singing debut at Nashville Christian Academy's Christmas program. Although the evening started out rocky with Nathan saying there was no way he would go because his new (adorable) shirt did not fit right - he actually did a great job! The bottom picture features his first outfit and a ton of tears, but after a wardrobe change in the car, he was ready to sing like a champ. He might not have participated in every song or sat down in his chair on cue, but at least he left his clothes on and stayed on stage. And I can't say the same for some of the other kids there... I didn't get great pictures because of our seats, but maybe I'll find a way to post a clip from the video camera soon. I can personally guarantee that seeing Nathan's performance will bring you to tears of joy. Yep. He's that good. :)

Christmas Tunes Vol. III

Tonight is the night of Nathan's first Christmas program at Nashville Christmas Academy. I thought I'd post a little preview as he was warming up in the kitchen this afternoon! He has been filling our home with holiday sounds all month as he and his little buddies have been preparing for their big debut. Enjoy this clip and come back soon for a review of the actual performance! Also know that even though this is a pretty good run of both songs, he afterward ended them with "ba da ba daaa!" I hope tonight ends with a flourish, too! :)

Christmas Card Cuts

Hey everyone! I just wanted to give you all a quick update this evening to fill you in on our exciting weekend. Unfortunately it included an ambulance ride to the hospital for Jonathan while Nathan, the in-laws and I race home from Conway to be with him. He developed a yucky staph infection and ended up having an operation Monday morning. We're all back at home now, thankfully, and he's healing as quickly as possible. Now he just has to get back on his feet so he can get back in McDonald's! Now that you know the gruesome details of what's been going on lately, please enjoy a few cute pictures of our family (pre-operation). :) You may have already gotten your annual Bauer family Christmas cards, but here are a few extra cute ones that just didn't make the cut. Enjoy!

Christmas Tunes Vol. II

WARNING: Watch your volume. This gets loud.

I don't know if this counts as a Christmas tune, so much as a Christmas tune gone bad. Yes, Nathan, does know the words to this song; however, at this particular moment he was simply not having it. I just wanted to post this to the blog to show that Nathan is not always the little angel you may think, as you may have noted when he started screaming "PEAR TREE! PEAR TREE!" :) Oh and this also proves any tantrum can be resolved with the love of chocolate milk.

I Love a Parade

Nathan, Nana, and I experienced a first this evening - we braved the cold, bundled up like marshmallows, and watched the one and only Nashville Christmas parade! Although it was just as I expected (a lot like Hope's) we still had a lot of fun. Nathan absolutely loved it and talked all night about the band, the drums specifically, the antique tractors, and Santa Claus! Another pleasant surprise was learning that Nashville is one of few cities that has yet to outlaw candy hurling at parades. We all snatched up handfuls and went home with pockets full of treats. :) We had so much fun that I thought I would share a few pictures of our night. Enjoy!
