Where's Spring??

The boys and I are officially tired of the fact that it doesn't reach 60 degrees yet. Friday was an absolutely beautiful day and we were itching to stop watching TV and play inside toys. I checked the weather and it was a close 59 degrees so we went ahead and enjoyed the beautiful (albeit still a bit too chilly) afternoon. It was so pretty I had to take a few pictures and, of course, share them with you. Nathan and I both long for the days that we can leave the cap and jacket inside. Come on, spring, where are you???

More of the White Stuff

As we were finishing up a DELICIOUS Valentine's Day lunch with Grammy, Poppy, and the kids Sunday afternoon, we realized a little frozen rain was starting. This very quickly escalated to snow - and quite a bit of it! The first twopictures were taken Sunday afternoon and the other two were taken on my way out of the house this morning. It didn't snow for long, but it ended up being more than the first round earlier in teh week. I was actually very surprised to wake up to so much! (I know technically this is not *a lot* but give me a break - we live in southwest Arkansas.)

The Little Valentines

This Saturday, Grammy and Poppy came down to spend the night and Joley and Riley just happened to be in town to make the trip with them! Nathan was thrilled, as you might imagine, and the three kids had a fabulous time together. Once they arrived, Grammy and I took a trip to Wal-Mart and returned with bags full of glitter and art supplies. The kids set to work making valentines (and a mess)! Through rounds of wrestling, bed jumping, and running around naked, the kids had a great time together. We miss them already and can't wait to see them again!

PS - That last picture was taken by Joley. It may be a little blurry, but cute, right?? It's rare that I'm in front of the camera with the little guy so I had to share that one, too. :)

Snow Day (Kinda)

So as I alluded to yesterday, there was indeed a bit of the white stuff on the ground when we woke up early this morning. However, it really was just a bit. It seemed like it snowed from about 2 pm through the night, but resulted in maybe an inch? And we also watched it completely melt away by about 10:30 this morning. Looking out there now at 3 pm, there is absolutely zero proof that it snowed. HOWEVER, here a few pictures that will serve as proof to my readers. These pictures are from last night and this morning when we did, in fact, suit up, throw some snowballs, and create the tiniest Frosty the Snowman ever. Then we came inside, stayed in our jammies, and watched it all melt away. Nathan may be a little sad about it, but that is definitely my kind of snow. :)

Valentime's Day

Although we're a little early this year, we have plenty of good reasons to celebrate being in love this February. :) Nathan's Valentine's Day party was held at school yesterday and Nana and I stopped by to watch the kids exchange lots of valentines and then enjoy an ice cream sundae (not to mention a ton of candy). Nathan even pointed out a girl or two in his class that he has named his "valentime." :) My own valentine even sent me a pretty special present yesterday - a gorgeous bouquet of flowers with roses, daisies, lilies, and tulips. I couldn't resist sharing that, too!

As for a bun in the oven update - I really don't have one, and I am thinking that's a good thing. Knock on wood, I don't have any morning sickness or annoying symptoms just yet, but it's still early. Right now I'm just anxiously awaiting that first appointment so I can get my first glimpse at the little guy or gal. :)

PS - I thought I'd share that as I'm typing, a beautiful blanket of snow is falling down around our property here in Nashville. It's only been snowing for about an hour and it's already covering the pine trees and other brush. If it keeps up, I bet I have a fun snow day blog tomorrow. :) Stay warm!

Guess What??

So it looks like in about nine months or so the title of this blog is going to have to change. :) Yes, as you can tell by the addition of another ticker to the right of this space, Baby Bauer #2 is officially on the way! After only two months of trying to make Nathan a big brother, these two beautiful pink lines popped up this week. Although I obviously know how this whole baby-making thing works, I was still in complete shock when this positive test smiled back at me (followed by an even bigger digital positive later in the day)! And to make things even better, I quickly calculated my due date - and learned that it is 10-10-10. Fits pretty perfectly with Nathan's birthday of 07-07-07, doesn't it?? :) Anyway the three of us are absolutely elated with the news of our little bean and cannot stop talking about how we will soon become a family of four. Whether it means all new pink stuff or a little brother to wrestle, we will be thrilled either way. I've already chosen an OBGYN in Texarkana and I go for my first check-up and ultrasound Thursday, March 4. Please be watching for an update that day! :)

As for Big Brother Nathan, he is thrilled beyond belief. He can tell you all about being a big brother, he can tell you right where his baby is, and sometimes he even offers kisses and snuggles for the little one. However, every once in a while he'll say he is going to be the only baby, but we have a few months to work on that. :) I'm pretty sure he is going to be a terrific big brother!

Well I am so excited to get to spill the beans to everyone. Please keep checking back here as I'll continue to keep you updated on your favorite little boy and now there will be additional updates about your favorite little bun in the oven. Thanks so much for all of the congratulations we've already received and I ask that you keep us in your prayers as we begin what we hope is a happy and healthy nine months.
