Our Mountain Escape

If you didn't notice, Jonathan and I were able to sneak away for a few days this week. :) Tuesday after work we left Nathan with Nana, packed up the car, and headed to the hills of eastern Oklahoma. Until Thursday, our home was the gorgeous cabin pictured above and located in the middle of nowhere. We didn't go to celebrate anything in particular, just to get away from it all for a few days and spend precious time together.

Although I won't give you the whole play-by-play of our little rendezvous, here are a few pictures to share. After a long morning of sleeping in, we spent Wednesday in the great outdoors, hiking down (and *ahem* back up) the mountain, hitting the trails, and floating the Mount Fork River. I'm pretty sure it doesn't get much more relaxing when this is your view:

Before we left, a few people asked if we were going camping and although we were technically in the woods sans technology, I still don't think this quite counts. :) But if you really want to see how good we had it, click here. This cabin and all the others at the River's Edge now come with the Bauer stamp of approval.

Especially when I opened the refrigerator and this plate of goodness was staring back at me:

During our little "camping trip" we also went on a four-wheeler ride that led us to this secluded, rocky area of the river. Of course, we had to climb onto these rocks and take pictures of each other.

I hope you enjoyed seeing our lovely faces for a change, but I promise the next post will involve either Nathan or vegetables (which looked marvelous today, by the way!). Thank you, Jonathan, for getting me out of my element for a few days, but as we all know, there is no place like home. Happy Thursday!
