Rutabaga Baby

Pretty funny-looking vegetable, right?? However, it pales in comparison to the adorable little baby I'm comparing it to this week. That's right, Baby Owen and I made it to 25 weeks Saturday and the kid is now weighing in at a pound and a half - just like your common household rutabaga.

He's getting pretty big and boy, am I starting to notice! I've gotten to the point where his kicks wake me up in the morning. My alarm clock has become pointless these days - if it's not the big boy, it's the little boy. I suppose I'd better get to used to that, though. :) Anyway, I don't have a belly photo to share today, but I should in a few days. One of my BFFs, the fabulous photographer Meredith, took our family pictures this weekend, so I will have the best 25-week photo ever! And it will be posted immediately.

However, I did have an appointment last week and wanted to share an update. My Week 24 check-up went just fine. Nathan and Grammy were able to accompany me and Nathan was even asked to work the doppler again. We either have a doctor in the making or maybe he's just dong it for the free suckers. Either way, it is so awesome to see him involved and watch his face as he finds that strong little sound through my belly. In other news, all my stats were good - my tummy is measuring perfectly and my weight gain is still minimal, but I'm not holding my breath on that one. ;) I also got the news that because Nathan came early, there's a good chance Owen will be a February baby. Because of that, this is my very last four-week wait. I'm starting my every-other-week appointments at 28 weeks! Visiting the OB office more often just makes it seem much more real. His birthday could be a mere three months away and I'm so excited. I'm ready to meet this little boy and I'm sure you all are, too. Happy Monday!
