Fresh Veggies

These two harvests are just a couple of the buckets of yum I've been toting in. Pictured above (to my utter surprise) are pickings from five out of six planted crops! We turned the peppers and eggplant into a delicious stir fry, chopped up the okra for freezing, and have been munching on raw maters and cukes. It's unbelievable that I'm actually reaping the benefits of my dirty hands and hard work. As you recall, that wasn't exactly the case last year. While Jonathan's busy in the kitchen chopping eggplants to fry, take a peek at the final crop, battling the squash bugs and growing their little hearts out:

Someday soon these baby watermelons will (hopefully) provide a sweet, refreshing dessert to our dinners fresh from the garden. Happy Friday!
