This Week's Wrap

I missed posting my Friday Five {and all the other days of this week...}, so I decided to go with a weekend-style stream of consciousness. Buckle up, my friends, it's time for a brain dump. Here is what's going on in the world of the Bauer Bunch:

BLOGGERS Today I'm going to attend another blogger meetup with the lovely ladies of the Southwest Arkansas Women Bloggers. It's been one month since we left AWBU and I think it's time to start sharing what we learned and growing from each other's experiences. Although that's what we should be doing, we'll probably just chat like old friends and chase children. From the sounds of it, there will be baby bloggers everywhere. Look forward to a followup next week, because I know good stories will grow from this.

Obligatory box-on-doorstep photo. In it was a pair of jeans, three tops, and a blazer. None for me.

STYLE I mentioned a while back on my Facebook page that I scheduled my first Stitch Fix. This is an online styling service in which you fill out a style profile, from your preferred fit to which styles best suit you. A stylist then packages five pieces and sends them to your doorstep. You keep/pay for what you like, and if you don't like any of it, you throw it in a prepaid envelope and just lose your $20 styling fee. My first box arrived this week, and I chose the latter option. Unfortunately, none of it was WOW enough to keep and the fit on a few pieces was wrong. No modeling photos to share this go round, but you better believe I'll be trying again. It was fun, and much better than wasting time at the mall and coming away disappointed and empty-handed. Plus, if you click any of the links and schedule a fix, your referral gives me credit. Neat!

FOOTBALL The Bauer Bunch once again found themselves in the high school bleachers last night, but we traded our orange for red. It was my high school's Homecoming and since it's just down the highway from where we live now, we thought it would be fun. The nachos, popcorn, and candy did not disappoint, and Owen ended up having a blast because his best buddy was there {even if they did spend a good portion of the time calling the Hogs}. We actually made it through the third quarter this time, and I had a blast visiting with a handful of old friends. Success!

CHORES If you follow me on Facebook {and if you don't, you should}, you have already heard about this. Nathan has been talking about allowance for the last few weeks, so Jonathan decided to create a chore chart as a measurement of success. We did a white erase board so we can always adjust or add to the list of chores. The only problem is that we were only home two nights this week, so the check marks are lacking. We're just starting, so watch for an update post.

This one now lives in a mason jar on my counter.

OCTOBER I'm not a #fall girl. I don't like pumpkin spice. I don't like candles that smell like leaves. I don't know how to pair a scarf with leggings. Hold on, don't let me lose you! Despite the fact that the accessories of the season don't suit my taste, autumn in Arkansas is incredible. The sweltering season has passed {which oddly enough was saved for September this year}, and my beautiful yard is making its triumphant return. The hydrangeas are as blue and abundant as ever, my pepper plants have come back to life and are weighted down with green bells, and my summer-planted cucumbers and beans are thriving. Here's to a garden tour before the frost arrives.

So what have you been up to this week? I'm sorry if I offended you while you're sipping your pumpkin spice latte. I really like you, I promise. That's why I want you and yours to have a wonderful weekend. Get outside, hang out with your family, and just smile. It can do wonders!

I signed up with StichFix this morning. I forgot to use your link and it didn't ask for the code so I have emailed them with your referral code to be sure you still get credit. I usually subscribe to Gwynnie Bee since this postpartum body isn't sure what it wants to do, but wanted to switch it up a bit. Hopefully the sizing will work out for me through StichFix.

Thanks so much, Monica! I bit the bullet and scheduled my second fix for late November. Hopefully I'll fall in love with something this time around. I hope your first one works out great for you! I loathe real-life shopping, so if they can get my fit/style down, this has great potential.
